Precision Post-Hole Estimator

Calculations include a suggested 10% waste buffer

ProTips

Every calculation uses industry-standard 80lb bag metrics (0.60 cubic feet) for perfect site inventory.

A post is only as stable as the soil beneath it. In cold climates, moisture in the soil can freeze and expand, literally 'heaving' your post out of the ground. Our calculator helps you account for the depth needed to get below the frost line and ensure a lifetime of stability.

Foundation & Drainage

A solid post starts at the bottom. Adding 4–6 inches of crushed stone provides a stable base and allows water to drain away from the post, preventing rot and shifting over time.

Calculations aren't just about volume; they're about reality. Our logic includes a 10% waste factor to account for spillage, uneven hole walls, and standard site loss, ensuring you finish the job without an extra trip to the store.
